The next meeting will be at 3:00pm on Friday 31st July in room 18.23 at DHHS 50
Lonsdale Street.
The main presentation will by Robin Dale who's involved in the Common Client
Index project at DHHS. He'll be talking about the following aspects of his
work:
* Name / address etc de-duplication using fuzzy matching algorithms:
out-of -the-box using SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services), as well as coded
solutions in SQL, and other languages. Fuzzy matching is being used by The
Centre (Gary Au's team) to create the Common Client Index.
* (Social) Network Analysis - discovering new insights by linking
"nodes" (people, services, countries etc) with "edges", anything of interest
that links the nodes (phone contact, contact with services, travel, debt
sharing etc).
This stuff is seriously cool so miss it at your peril.
As usual if anyone would like to do a show and tell let me know.
We'll need to arrange security passes so if you think you'll be attending
