A critical security update to Firefox has been released. Now, it only takes a minute to update. First, determine if you need the update. In the upper right hand corner of your Firefox browser, underneath the X(close window), there is a circle comprised of eight smaller circles, that is usually animated when a page loads. If you see a red Up arrow to the left of it, you need the critical updates. Click on the red Up arrow. The auto-update wizard starts. Click "Install Now" when the update wizard has found version 1.0.4. It will need to close all Firefox windows. Allow it to do so. The setup starts, and here again, clicking "next" all through should do the trick. You may choose to use or not use the Firefox start page on the last step of setup, and it actually won't overwrite your homepage when you uncheck the box, like it did in all previous versions. After the browser restarts, look again to the upper right for that red Up arrow. You may need to update extensions you have installed. Repeat the red Up arrow update procedure until it no longer appears on browser start-up. This version will clean up the old install information in the add/remove programs control panel, which previous versions did not. In addition to this plus, and the plus that it doesn't overwrite your start page when you uncheck the box on install, it really does contain major security fixes, and should be taken seriously. If your version is too old, this update feature won't work. You'll need to download it and run the installer.
