Hi Brian,
Borgeson has a very good catalogue here
http://www.borgeson.com/Images/09Catalog.pdf lots of technical details, mostly ;
Imperial though.
I have a metric spline chart somewhere. I’ll see if I can find it tonight.
If you get stuck you’re welcome to use my mill to cut splines, with help if
needed.
Regards,
Robin

Subject: [ccc-qna] Steering shaft splines
I am trying to mix and match steering shafts to avoid welding the steering
column. This project is not for the road, so I can weld if necessary . But
less welding is better. Building the RoadRat I found just about all small
Toyota used the same spline for all steering shaft joints. So I could choose
universals and intermediate shafts from different models to get the desired
total length. Now am looking at a Suzuki rack and Honda Civic column, with two
universals each. I find between them 4 different splines in the range of OD
14mm to 15mm. As an example the attached picture shows the Civic pinion shaft,
29 splines and OD approx 14.9mm . Does anyone know of a list of common splines
and car models that use them?
Thanks. Brian Worboys
