Many thanks guys for all your replies.
I'm looking at reworking my suspension with the shock mounting onto the
bottom A arm so the top of the spindle is not load bearing in bump.
My only problem is that the sway bar is in the way so will have to move it
about 100mm to the front which can be done.
The question on bump stops, do you guys know of any problems mounting the
bump stop as part of the coil-over shock with the shock mounted on to the
bottom A arm?
