City of Ft. Mitchell Star Gaze-100th Anniversary as a City On Saturday, June 26, the city of Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky, will celebrate its 100th anniversary as a city with a Taste of Ft. Mitchell, Civil War reenactment and a Star Gaze. The city of Ft. Mitchell is named for General Ormsby MacKnight Mitchel, the founder (1842) of the Cincinnati Astronomical Society. Since O.M. Mitchel founded the society for which our organization is named let's support the city of Ft. Mitchell in their celebration! The telescopes need to be set up by 9:30 p.m. on the grounds of the old orphanage on Orphanage Road. The star gaze ends at 11:00 p.m. If you will be able to set up a telescope along with the telescopes from the Cincinnati Observatory please let John Ventre, the coordinator of this star gaze, know by e-mailing him at jeventre@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
