The weather for Saturday's "Galaxies" public stargaze and lecture looks promising. The event runs from 7 until 10pm. We need to have the HQ and scopes ready beforehand so set up should start at 6:30. Terry Endres will give the presentations around 7:15 or so depending on when the crowds arrive. We still have volunteer opportunities open (see below). If you can lend a hand please drop us a note. CAS members who are not yet comfortable with volunteering are certainly welcome. Might be a way of getting your public outreach feet wet. Saturn and the gibbous waxing Moon will be the targets of choice earlier in the evening and hopefully we can give our visitors a peek at some of the brighter galaxies. Our next public stargaze will be "Moonlight" on May 26th from 8-10pm. John Ventre will be our presenter. Again we'll need volunteers.
