Cansmart 2015 - IOP Best Student Paper Award

The recipient of the IOP Best Student Award for Cansmart 2015 is Mr Daniel
Grinsberg of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Siegen,
Siegen, Germany. The paper is entitled: "Sparse Solution Strategy for
Simultaneous Localization and Magnitude Estimation of Impact Loads" by D.
Ginsberg and C.P. Fritzen and appears on pages 159-168 of the Proceedings of
CANSMART/SMN 2015, July 15-17.
In the first picture, Prof. George Akhras, President of the Cansmart Group,
is handing the Award to Daniel Ginsberg and in the 2th picture, the envelope
with the $ 250 US dollars.
For the past few years, the Best Student Paper Award, sponsored by the IOP
Journal of Smart Materials and Structures, consists of a Certificate and $
250 dollars. A Committee of Cansmart's Board of Directors reviewed the
submissions based on the following criteria:
1) The first author of the paper is a student.
2) The Committee evaluates the general quality of the paper including a
clear and concise description of the work, the clarity of the language, the
organization and completeness of the work.
3) If the paper is to be considered, the supervisor or sponsor of the work
should authorize the submission.
The Cansmart Board of Directors extends a warm thank you to the publisher of
the IOP Journal of Smart Materials and Structures, Ms. Natasha Leeper who is
always very supportive of Cansmart.
