Subject: Trainwash Meeting with GTR Wed Nov 18 at 6pm
Resent from: <mail@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
G’day all,
We (the Trainwash committee) are waiting on confirmation of a meeting with GTR
on Wed Nov 18 at 6pm. If you want to be invited, send me an email or DM and
I’ll forward it to Chris Penn.
Since we can not stop the facility being built at this point, this meeting is
intended to be a constructive discussion about the planning application issues.
We want to see if we can secure some informal agreements about the visual
appearance, noise reduction, and operational hours. These are things that we
believe, on legal advice, we can try to push a bit more on.
We’d prefer not to deal with the larger issue of why build it at all. It’s not
that we don’t believe that’s still relevant, rather that (a) we can’t influence
that in this planning process and (b) if we enter immediately combative on that
point then we will reduce the likelihood of a positive outcome. We may still
not get a positive outcome, and but we should try.
That being said, you can deal with that issue in your individual response to
the planning proposal, due Nov 20.
Until anon, Sean
