Yes indeed Elizabeth thanks for sharing your letter.
I am really, really sorry to be adding to the noise this week with the front
paint of our house being removed. I thought it was going to follow a more
silent approach involving a chemical applied to the brick (with a protective
layer on top)...but they've had to go down a different route, and of course the
timing of this with the noisier trainwash work makes me feel even worse!
I believe that the noisy part on our front wall will be completed today if they
manage to finish the first floor which is proving reluctant to go; then it will
be pointing. I will check with the guys later and confirm. I hope that knowing
it will end soon on this side is at least a little comfort...
Kind regards and our apologies again,

Dear Chris, Diane,
I hope you are well. I'm writing to complain about the train wash
construction. The noise from the diggers and work vehicles at the back of
Great Eastern Street is intolerable.
Many of us are still working from home. The noise and dust from the
construction is making work, and life in general, very difficult for me.
It is totally inconsiderate of GTR and Network Rail to carry on this work
while we are still in lockdown for the most part.
If the noise doesn't ease up, I will be making a formal complaint to the city
environment authorities.
