Complaint about noise Dear Solveig,Thank you for your email.I have spoken to
the site management team and they have said the intention is to get the Sunday
work done as quickly as possible. Every effort will be made to get it done in
fewer than the three that are listed on the newsletter. After listening to
concerns about the 08:00 start, this Sunday, 2nd August we have pushed our
start back to 10:00am, so there should not be any site noise before this time.
Please be assured we are doing everything that we can to keep the disruption to
a minimum and we do apologise for any inconvenience caused. Kind regardsDiane

Subject: FW: Further Complaint about noise
Good afternoon Please see below my noise complaint. There is zero consideration
for our wellbeing otherwise you would not be working Sundays "only" from 8-18h.
You're digging right behind my garden shed and the noise levels are seriously
turning our gardens into no go zones and our health is suffering.RegardsSolveig

[cambtrainwash] Further Complaint about noise
Good afternoon I would like to register another noise complaint about the
ongoing work regarding the trainwash behind Great Eastern Street. This started
before 8am this morning and it has been almost impossible to concentrate and
work from home this week (and we don't have the option to go back to the office
as it's still closed). Trying to play with my toddler in the garden gave me a
headache. There is a digger right behind our garden shed. Now we've had a
letter to say Spencer will continue to work weekends and every Sunday in August
8am till 6pm. This means we don't have a single day during the week where there
is a bit of relief from the noise which ranges from 60db to over 80db. This is
seriously impacting our health and wellbeing. I am urging the council to please
at least restrict the work on Sundays to relieve us from some noise. You need
to protect our health and that of our children. Kind regardsSolveig Burfeind 63

Dear Ms Burfeind,
I understand you may have received a response from GTR / Spencer but please
find attached an explanatory letter sent by them to residents.
I am also working with them to improve resident notification going forward.
Best regards,
Alexander Nix

Subject: Complaint about piling works
Good afternoon
I'm writing to log my complaint regarding the piling works on the trainwash
behind our homes on Great Eastern Street. The prospect of months of noise and
vibration so loud that people cannot sleep and houses are shaking is just
unacceptable.
I have a toddler whose bedroom is facing directly towards the site. There are
infants sleeping nearby. We were 'lucky' to have been away this weekend but
seeing the videos from my neighbours and seeing that levels reached 90DB at
4.30am makes me scared of
coming back! There has been zero regard for the wellbeing and health of our
community. How can you continue the work, knowing full well that Network Rail
does not have the certificate of lawfulness required?
Regards
Solveig Burfeind
