Calmira blacks out certain lines in B&W modes.... I have Calmira in Windows for Workgroups 3.1 on a 386 dual-booting with Windows NT 3.1. But I seldom power it up, and when I do I usually boot NT. Both OS's are on my network and can share the 24- pin dot-matrix printer connected to the 386. They also read the CD- ROM drives on other systems on the network. As for B&W, I have an old Toshiba laptop (I think it's a T1000SE) with no hard drive, a total of 3MB of RAM (of which all but the essential 640K is set up as a virtual HD), and an '086 type processor. The display is CGA (not VGA) monochrome. By connecting a parallel-port Zip-100 drive I've been able to plod (not run) Windows 3.0 on it in real mode, but no useful applications are supported that way, let alone Calmira. I almost never power it up these days. -- Marty Martin B. Brilliant at home in Holmdel, NJ -- To unsubscribe, send a message to ecartis@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe calmira_tips" in the body.
