Thanks Billy for the info on F-Prot, I just went to the site (it should be www.f-prot.com) and the DOS version is indeed still free. I'm not sure where I read it, it could be earlier posting from Calmira or maybe when I subscribed to the Omnibook's list. I do remember others complaining about how infrequent the virus updates are getting when I heard the news. Owell, I very glad to be corrected and to know about AVG. -----Original Message----- From: Billy Wong [mailto:bhs1989@xxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, September 16, 2002 12:28 PM To: calmira_tips@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: <CT> Re: Fiilesize checking, F-Prot, DBL-DMF On Mon, 16 Sep 2002 11:39:36 -0400 "MOY, WILLIAM" <BMOY@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> writes: > Q: I read that F-Prot is no longer free, can someone recommend a > free virus protection program that is current and continually updated? Where did you read it? I just checked www.fprot.com and the DOS version is still free... the only other free AV program that's worth getting is AVG Free Edition (www.grisoft.com) which is for Windows 9x and later. Grisoft updates their AV database enough to keep you happy. ___Billy Wong___ BHS1989@xxxxxxxx http://www.angelfire.com/80s/billythekid16 -- To unsubscribe, send a message to ecartis@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe calmira_tips" in the body.
