Looks like one of two things may have happened: a) Dodgy MBR (master boot record) - but easy to fix. b) Hard drive gone kaput Hoping that it's not the second option (as this effectively loses all your data), I would suggest booting to DOS via a floppy and trying the commend fdisk /MBR at the prompt.
