Hello Calmirians,

could it be that the View >> Arrange Icons submenu does not work as
expected? For example, when I want to switch from arrangement by name to
arrangement by date, nothing happens. Going back to arrangement by name
results in the files being sorted by type... The other ways to change
file sorting (toolbar and context menu) work as expected.

BTW: I'm typing this on an original IBM "click" keyboard. These things
are great - they may be large, heavy (2 kg!) and anything but quiet,
plus they don't seem to work on some newer (cheap) boards, but they're
very nice to type on indeed, and they're said to last forever (they seem
robust enough). No windoze keys and other gimmicks! Having belonged to
PS/2 computers, most seem to have a PS/2 connector, but getting (or
building) adapters to DIN shouldn't be too difficult (the protocol is
identical). If you can get one of these cheaply (on flea markets, with
companies throwing out their old PS/2s, perhaps on a dump, ...) in
working order (just test if all the keys give a clicking sound) and with
the necessary cable, do it! Most will require thorough cleaning, but
after that they're like new. Mine was made in 1993, as it seems.
BTW equivalent keyboards are still being produced, they cost US$49 (US
layout) or US$79 (non-US layout), VAT and shipping not included (in the
end, such a thing would cost me some DM 230 if shipping from the US
costs DM 30 - you can get 2 used 486s for that).
