I am writing as the RNIB catalogue seems to be in the same situation.
However, after sending several Emails regarding this, I have received an
automated response stating someone will respond to my query, but I have
received no response.

Have you tried with an author you KNOW has books in the Calibre library?
Someone like Thomas Hardy?
I think we really need an answer from one of the Calibre folk, like Liz
