Hello, Roger,

It's The African Queen'. It starts with the death of a missionary and his
sister who lived with him is trying to leave Africa in the throes of the Great
War.....

Cheers!

Lal.

Subject: [calibrebooks] Searching for a Book

I am a member of both RNIB and Calibre libraries and cannot remember which had
the book in question. I meant to order it but forgot so now I’m looking for
details. It is set in World War One and the Germans had a gun boat on one of
the large African lakes. To counteract the effect this had the allies arranged
for transportation overland of 2 gun boats and the book is the story of this
remarkable feat. Two large boats crossing hundreds of miles of virgin jungle by
sheer manpower alone.
If anyone can give me some detail you enable me to get this book I’ll be most
grateful.

Many thanks Roger
