Last week we promised details of the Christmas run when we had more
information. Whilst there hasn’t been any more local Calderdale announcements
it’s clear from the mood music at the moment that it’s unlikely we're going to
move out of Tier 3.
After a lot of debate amongst the committee we've decided the most pragmatic
solution, which hopefully allows people to meet up and celebrate together
within the spirit of government guidance, is for people to make their own way
in small groups to Stoodley with the aim of trying to make it there for 7.45pm.
There will be no official start place or time so please look out for one
another – if a few of you are thinking of running from a location use the
Facebook event page to let others know. Equally if you’re stuck for a running
buddy just shout on here – no one gets left behind at CVFR.
It’s imperative that those there remain 2 meters apart at all times and do not
make skin contact. Whilst we’re all crying out for as normal a Christmas as we
can, taking part in this run comes with a health warning. Last Sunday a group
of CVFR runners ventured out together. Subsequently one of them has tested
positive for Covid – and all have to self isolate. If this had been nearer it
would have put all their family Christmas Day's at risk. And therefore we need
you to be aware of this risk and make your own mind up about implications
before running.
If you’re worried of being in a group and Christmas plans being ruined then
please don’t come out on Tuesday- we hope you have a fantastic break and we can
see you in what is hopefully a much better 2021.
For those who aren’t self isolating and want to join us we hope you understand
the decision we've come to – and this at least allows us to minimise risks and
still get out for a Christmas run.
Finally, if you need anything during the Christmas break you know where we are.
Its important that we remain to look out for each other throughout this
winter.
On behalf of the committee 😊
