Hi everyone this is the third day since we sent this on Wednesday, and so far
we've filled 108 of the 120 places between us - meaning there's just 12 left.
Over the last few days we've had a few enquiries as to whether there's
opportunity to bring non members along. What we'll do is leave it until the end
of next Tuesday (ie give members a week from the original message to decide)
and if we still have tickets then we'll communicate and open up to non members
on a first come first served basis (please don't ask before then)
Hope that makes sense and have a good weekend whether you're doing The
Hodgsons, Castle Carr or even The London Marathon - or even just shouting on
our fab 🏃♀️ 🏃♂️ runners

Morning all
This is the communication I know you've been waiting for.
On 26th October 1986 a group of inspired runners met at a pub in Halifax and
decided to set up a club in their local area dedicated to fell running alone:
The Calder Valley Fell Runners were born.
On 23rd October (ie 3 weeks on Saturday) we're going to celebrate this historic
event the only way we know how - by getting together.
The day will kick off at 1.30pm with a fun relay race in teams of 4 (each leg
is only 4.3km). We've pulled out all the stops to get a fell legend to not only
set it off, but do the Prize giving at MCC around 4pm. Tea/coffee and snacks
will be on hand.
The main evening do starts at 7pm were we'll celebrate and say Happy Birthday
to Jeff Winder and Co in style with a buffet dinner from the Hebden Bridge
Dosa; live entertainment; a chance to hear from Jeff, Rhys and Gary about just
how nice Halifax Harriers were to run for in the 1980s and the biggest birthday
cake we can find. And if that wasn't enough fell running legend Nicky Spinks
is going to be in attendance talking about some of her exploits - and what CVFR
has brought to the World of fell running in their 35 years. This will be top
off by a DJ and Disco with the chance to see captain Godsman shake that belly
on the dance floor 🕺 Tickets for this are £10 each and are limited to club
members.
The capacity unfortunately at the MCC Jubilee room is limited you want to
attend please reply straight back to this email. Places will be allocated on a
first come first served basis. To secure your place please pay £10 to the club
account (detailed below) with the reference 35yrs <your name>. Once this is
done please screenshot it and send me the email. Unfortunately given demand
failure to do this within 7 days will mean your place will be reallocated to
the next person on the list.
A/C name: Calder Valley Fell RunnersA/C no: 49657760Sort Code: 30-98-97
Hope all that makes sense and see you on the day. Will be fun seeing old and
new members celebrating together ❤🤍❤🤍
