Doom for Linux (Complete) 2,663 downloads i prefer slackware .. when its possible.. for which distro .... i say its all the same .... - same kernel - same bash, same gcc, same make - same sendmail, same apache, same majordomo, same mailman, - same perl, same tcl/tk - same x11, same kde, same gnome whats different is which of the 10,000 apps they have tested on their distro ... and the way they isntall and manage those 10,000 apps ... otherwise its all the same - "package management" is what breaks ... in each distro - just not enough manpower to test the 10,000 apps - pick the packages you want/need first... worry about the distro later ... and for that matter... cross polinate it is better ie.. install rh for its raid capabilities and use tar balls for rest of the apps :-) or use slackware .. and get all the lastest versions/apps used from each of the original maintainer's sites ( best way in my book ... latest/greatest usually has fixed ( previous bugs .. c ya alvin
