Everyone, The acronym CIM is not as widely used as it has been in the past, but those in the mechanical industry know it. When I search on OpenCIM in Google, I get a bunch of hits, but no one clearly 'trademarks' it. Further each hit is 'minor league' and will likely disappear over time. This is a fun task to start with ..... picking a name. It helps everyone think about the future of this effort, and therefore the direction. If we can't agree on a name, it is likely that we won't be able to agree on much else. So, lets see how it goes .... Any other ideas anyone? Perhaps we should wait ..... the name may be obvious once the overall direction is defined.
