If this happens (not completely sure why it does) I usually hit escape and then
hit continue flying and then try it again. That usually works

It's possible that your plane is accidentally backed up to a fuel pump, which
means the doors don't actually close properly. I've noticed this problem from
time to time, but don't know of an easy and 100% reliable solution. Maybe
someone else on list has more thoughts.
