THis is precisely the kind of thing I was hoping to find. I was thinking I’d
rather have speech than Braille, but the principle seems to be the same. I know
FSUIPC does display messages for some add-ons, which we couldn’t access before
OCR came along.

This gets a bit technical, but essentially what it does is allow you
to build a display of various values in FSX. Using this code, I was
able to build a WideFS plugin that would update data on a braille
display in real time.
So, for example, I could see my airspeed, heading, and altitude change
in real time. The info you can get at is only limited by the available
data from FSUIPC, which is a lot!
I haven't touched this in a few years, but might dive back into this
to see what I can make it do.
PF3 does send some info out via FSUIPC. So, I think I can modify this
code to get at that info.
This would allow you to get at the info it is sending out via the
kneeboard for example.
