Okay thanks, that makes sense, I'll make sure to register then.

Hello,
Only a REGISTERED version of IYP can operate in the BVI mode. There's a
minimum 30-day REFUND policy, so there's no reason not to register IYP.

Hi again. I'm currently on the trial version of Iyp and I've managed to get
in the air. At the minute, Mike performs the takeoff but does not do all
the things such as retract flaps and gear as well as controlling airspeed.
Is this just because I'm currently on the trial version?

Declan,
No, I was talking about the flight file, which is distinct from the
flight plan file. The flight file has a .flt extension, and are created
by the save/load buttons on the main “free flight,” screen. Those are the
buttons you need to use, not the save/load buttons on the flight plan
screen.
Best,
Zack.

So once I have created my flight plan, I have to save it, and then
click on load, select it and click okay again, before clicking fly
now. Before i was just creating my flight plan and then clicking fly now
straight away.

Declan,
Either screen reader should be okay. YOu probably want to start from a
gate or ramp.
When you create and save your flight, are you then loading it into the
sim again? If you don’t do this, you will still get your “no flight
plan has been loaded,” message. This is not actually true, as the
“destination work around,” I mentioned previously still lets you fly
and get distance information and so forth.
Best,
Zack.

If I wanted to make a flight plan, and I think I'm following the
correct process on the flight deck doc, do I need to select a runway
or ramp to start from. That's the only reason I can think of why it
wouldn't be working. If so, how do you do this as I'm struggling to
get this part to work in the filters area so it will read with my
screen reader. Just in case if one is easier, I have jaws and NVDA.

This is a bit buggy, or at least not as intuitive as it could be.
You've created a flight plan, but you haven't saved an FSX flight.
You can read about the process in the flight deck document on the IYP
site, or alternatively just say, "Make the destination airport 'icao
code'," which also seems to work. Personally, I feel like flights are
just a little too cluttered, and I prefer this latter method.

Hi again, sorry for all the questions. When I do a flight plan, I
select the aircraft and weather conditions before going to
flightplan and selecting my start and end destinations, before
selecting IFR and low altitude airways. Then I click okay and save
it. Then I click fly now, but then Mike says no flight plan has been
loaded. I have also made the local database to make sure that its
working.

Declan,
If FSX isn’t paused, the “Q,” key is used to mute and unmute
sounds. Is it possible you hit this by accident? Alternatively, P
pauses or unpauses the sim.
Best,
Zack.

By default, flight simulator will pause when you switch away from
it. There's a setting under General settings that is called
something like pause on task switch. You need to turn that off.

Hi, so I'm still having problems getting it's your plane to work
with my simulator. Here's what I'm doing at the moment if
someone could tell me what I'm doing wrong. I launch it's your
plane and then launch the simulator. I click on free flight,
select the Cessna aircraft and then select my starting point.
I'm not doing a flight plan at this point. Then I click fly now.
I wait for the scenery to fully load, and i usually get an
engine sound from the aircraft but I have been told by someone
cited that the plane is currently sitting on the ground. I alt
tab to it's your plane and Mike starts talking, explaining
about me being in the trial version. Then he says it's your
plane we are ready to go, but when I try and give him any
commands, like do all checklists or open options panel or
something, nothing happens. I just get the beats from speech
recognition telling me it didn't understand, even though I have
configured it already. Also, when I tab back to Microsoft flight
Sim, I no longer hear the engine sounds. I'm just not sure where
I'm going wrong really.

Hi Declan,
This is probably because you just picked the type of aircraft
you wanted, and not its location. The default FSX flight starts
with you already in the air.
The solution is to go to the second Change button, which lets
you pick an airport to park at. The search interface is a bit
confusing, and I usually just memorize the airport ID of the
place I want.
Hope this helps,
Zack.

Hi. I have just purchased Microsoft flight simulator steam
addition with Iyp. I have completed all of the set up and I'm
now looking to try and complete my first flight. I was just
wondering if someone could help me with the procedure, so far
I have managed to only load the aircraft in flight at which
point I wipe he asks me if I would like to do the descent
checklist. Could someone assist me with loading the aircraft
at a gate/ramp so I could run through all of the checklist and
complete the flight properly.
Thanks for any help, Declan
