It’s important to note that when you tell MCE to display the interface using
“Display Control Panel”, Sapi doesn’t speak it. A sound is heard, though. also,
to read flight instruments, the command is “read flight data” and to stop it,
it’s “Stop reading flight instruments”.
There’s a bunch of variations we can use.

I did.  That works to allow TTS for installation, but once I run FSX,
and I say that I trust the modules, etc., then I load a flight, my
airplane sits there, but no speech from MCE.  So Once I load a flight,
how am I supposed to proceed to allow TTS to speak everything to me?
Again, given that I modified the config values to ensure that narrator
is started automatically, which Ben confirmed were correct, it should
speak automatically once your airplane is loaded and you can hear the
engine sounds.    I even tried speaking the commands listed to bring
up the UI panel, and nothing occurred, except that my PC acted as if
it did not understand me...gave me that dunk feedback sound for
unrecognized command.  I know that my SR understands me, since I have
no problems when it interprets commands that I pass to IYP or to my PC
itself.  I was really hoping I could work with this, especially now,
given that IYP apparently is going to the great software home in the
sky, lol.

Saying no to this prompt enables BVI assistance and screen narrator.

RE MCE, I downloaded the demo, but I could never get it to speak aloud
to me.  I went in and adjusted the config file so that the values to
enable narrator and to show that I was blind were set to enable/true.
However, nothing was ever spoken.  Apparently when you first run it
there is some button in the window that has to be pressed.  I tried to
find the window using Jaws OCR, but to no avail.  So I am not sure how
we are even able to use MCE at all.  Theoretically, changing the
associated values in the config file should have automatically allowed
for speech readback immediately.  That apparently was not the case.
Therefore, any blind person that uses MCE and has set it up, please
explain how this was accomplished.  Thanks.

Thought I'd send this to you all as well in case you are curious. This
is part of an exchange I had with Ben.Mike.

There is a license transfer mechanism in place when the need (new
computer) arises.

You won't need to pay, unless you need it on two computers at the same
time.

Hello,

Thank you, got the attachment. I do have one other question. Should I
get a new computer, since this is linked to my hardware ID, does that
mean that to put this on a second computer that is not this one that I
need to buy a new license?

Mike.

Thanks for this new info Zach.
I'll have to try your advice before I write to MCE and asking for a new
code.
Many Thanks.

Jordan,

I didn’t think the license for MCE was computer specific. It doesn’t
seem

to be tied to any sort of hardware ID, you can just copy the file they
give you to the new computer and it seems as though it should work.

Best,
Zack.

I will see if I can find the AvSim forum for MCE's BVI mode. Now, if I
could just get them to transfer my license so that I could use MCE
without
have to pay for it again.  Also, feel free to add me to any lists or
groups
pertaining to flight simming.
