I did, however the registration dialogue did not come up, instead the message
about the aircraft not being loaded came up. Now when I load the sim, I load
the flight I created and it loads the Skyhawk with the plan from LA to Takoma
without issue, and still I get that message.
Me and Zack just had a Skype conversation where he first advised me to delete
the INI file again, apparently because a new one had been created probably when
i fired up the demo last. When I tried to re-launch IYP with everything loaded,
that message still came up. So then, I restored that user file from the recycle
bin to get it back, and went to the line that says “Regkey=” and pasted my key
there. Still nothing.
So, I guess it’s time for a complete reinstall, as it certainly came up the
first time I installed it without problems.

system sometimes opens up browsers and other apps and brings focus out of

In any case, I activated a copy of the demo, got it working and well, it
works. The only problem? Blind people really can’t take advantage of the
demo due to the fact that BVI mode can’t be turned on, IYP won’t actually
assist in takeoff, and there are also some checklist items that I had to
perform manually with BVI mode off, such as adjusting the throttle. Haha I
just hit F3 for a bit, since I don’t know when it’s at 1000 RPM. It’s
probably above 1000 RPM when I do it.
So, given the fact that BVI mode isn’t in the demo, I guess I’m just gonna
have to buy it. However, Zack told me that in order to get the user
registration dialogue to come up again, in the FSX folder there’s an IYP
user INI file. I delete it, like he suggests, and no user registration.
Actually, when I run IYP just standalone without the simulator running, IYP
actually freezes and doesn’t let me do much of anything. When I load the sim
and the Skyhawk, it correctly loads but goes into the online mode and back
to the demo.
I suspect that because it’s in the online mode that user file is probably
kept online somewhere and is still loading the demo. If I buy a key, will it
go back to the registration dialogue? That’s the only thing keeping me from
doing the quickstart flights and starting to sim. I am a bit disappointed in
the fact that BVI pilots can’t at least do the quickstart flights with a
fully functioning Skyhawk. I know the addon is worth every penny, and I’m
glad I got IYP up and running in some fashion and know that it can at least
run, but I like options.
