The MORSE CODE is giving you the VOR, ADF or NDB name. This is IMPORTANT
stuff you should very much learn, especially as a BVI pilot. So, if the
waypoint is named "ACN", you would hear...

I think it’s possibly a VOR identifier, for a navigational beacon. If you
say “nav 1 ident off,” or “ADF ident off,” it might stop beeping at you.
THey’re useful for pilots flying without GPS.
