Is this the only application that you're having trouble with presently, and
did you install anything new or change any system settings before this
happened?  If anything else is reading weird, you could try a repair of
jaws, but, if you're having other software issues where things don't read
right, or software isn't working as intended, then you're probably looking
at a reformat, if that's what you were ultimately thinking you'd need to do
previously. Without knowing more about your machine I'd be guessing.
