Moritz,

If you are able to use NVDA, the menus are accessible with object navigation. 
It’s a bit to get used to at first, but changing the simulation rate is 
definitely possible.

I don’t remember the shortcuts to change it manually I’m afraid. My advice is 
honestly to get NVDA and begin exploring the menus that way.
