Tyler and all,
Another thought, might this be one of the runways without a glide slope? There
are some approaches which offer a localizer for horizontal guidance, but no
vertical guidance, aka a glide slope.
Best,
Zack.

That's just it...I was told to turn left heading 330, descend and maintain
two thousand two hundred until established on the localizer. So I
acknowledge, then immediately turn to 330 and commence the approach
checklist. But no matter what, I keep holding level at 1,600 feet AGL. I
executed going around once, when I realized I had not captured the
glideslope, but it didn't help.

2,200 should be plenty honestly. A lear45 should be able to descend to
that altitude.

Hi guys,Blind and Visually impaired Pilots mailinglist
I tried to do a flight from KMKC to KSTL in a Learjet 45, using Simple
ATC+. On approach, I'm told to descend and maintain 2,200 until locked
on the localizer, but this is too high for me to capture the glideslope.
I am trying to land at runway 30L. Does anyone have any pointers for
calculating a good capture altitude (say, a certain altitude AGL)?
