Hi. I'm getting the hang of it, but for some reason in the FS panel when I try
and click on the menu button with NVDA nothing happens, do I have to be in the
air for that?

Declan,
The EFIS panel has a “menu,” button which you can use, yes. If you load a
plane up on a gate or runway and choose “run takeoff,” you’ll get air-born
and stabilized. There’s a manual which offers more details, that is highly
worth a read. Basically, there are two windows, the EFIS panel and the main
autopilot.
Best,
Zack.

Okay, I've now got the FSX pilot shareware version, NVDA seems to crash a
lot with it, is it the FS panel that you use to type commands and look at
the soup menus? If I just load up an aircraft will it take off for me?

Hi,
No, you’d have to manually specify altitudes in FSX Pilot. It’s no harder
than doing it with IYP, just a bit different, as you’re usually typing in
commands or numbers instead of speaking.
Best,
Zack.

If I was to use it with default ATC or third-party Add oms, would it
follow their commands for certain altitudes that are on the flight plan

Declan,
Yeah, this is pretty much exactly it. You can use FSXPilot with default
ATC if you have a MS flight plan, and free flight if you don’t.
Best,
Zack.

So, is this exactly what I could do with FSX pilot. I could get it and
then free flight around from airport to airport, telling it to land
where ever I wanted it to. I could also use it with default ATC, which
is what I'm using now, to do flights. If that is the case, I'll
definitely be getting it

Orin,
Probably the best thing to do would be to request a visual approach
using PF3, and then use some of the FSX Pilot auto landing options to
an actually get down. One thing that’s worth noting about FSP flight
plans is that they’re intended to mostly be executed automatically.
When flying a plane manually you really don’t need one.
For FS Economy purposes, it’s probably sufficient to fly direct from
airport to airport, especially in super remote areas like Alaska.
That’s what the “select,” command in FSX Pilot is for.
Best,
Zack.

Zack,
How do I Taylor my FSP txt plan to work with ATC? With imported flight
plans, FSXPilots landing procedure that it creates lands at a random
runway. I’ve figured out how to select runways manually, but how to
actually land when PF3 clears me, as FSXPilot will land sometimes
while PF3 is still in approach phase.
It’s really hard to know which command for auto land to use at these
alaskan airports. I’ve crashed several times and it’s stacked against
me when I can’t see the train I’m flying into.
I get quite a bit of FSE money with this group, so I’d like to be able
to land successfully in this type of turbine.

Declan and Moritz,
You don’t need a flight plan at all. FSX Pilot can actually fly you
pretty much anywhere, and includes commands to try to land in weird
terrain, which might help in really remote airports. It can also fly
you via airways, which is helpful if you’re flying with ATC coverage
or with a flight plan you create yourself.
One thing which is important to emphasize is that just because FSX
Pilot doesn’t integrate support for ATC, that doesn’t mean you can’t
use them together. You can certainly fly with default ATC, or any of
the third-party add-ons.
Best,
Zack.

Hmm good, that can be actually something for regional flights, I
actually like the feature where you can just look what's nearby.
Do I actually need a flight plan or can I just set up an aircraft
at a
random runway or helipad at a random airport, take off and randomly
fly
to different locations on the map?
Greetings Moritz.

It is useful because with things like regional flights, you
don’t *need* ATC. Most times, the sighted pilots I see on
streams use VFR rules for the majority of, say, FSEconomy flights,
etc.
Also, since I’m trying to gravitate away from IYP, it’s also
useful in that regard. I want to fly more aircraft, and the fact
that IYP won’t ever be updated with more supported aircraft…
reason enough right there to stop, or at least attempt, to stop
using it.

Good evening.
I have a recently downloaded the share ware version of Fsx pilot.
But to be honest, I can't really figure out what the advantage of
the program is. If I heard right, you don't even have air traffic
control coverage. So, what makes this program better as it's your
plane? Or in which situations is it useful?
