*RIMS Training and Lab Access:*

In order to have lab access and work in the lab with BURPG, you must be
compliant with university safety policies (these are not our rules, they
are the university's).

*PLEASE COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING ITEMS BY WEDNESDAY 9/21 TO RECEIVE LAB
ACCESS*

First, register for a RIMS account at the link below.

Once you have your account, follow these instructions to take a course. *You
should take the online course, not the in person one*.

The course you should take is called Universal Laboratory Safety Training
Quiz. It is a multiple choice quiz about lab safety rules that you must
first read through. Take as many chances as you need but you have to get an
80 for it to count.

When you have completed the training (and you must score an 80% or more to
pass), take a screenshot of your grade on blackboard and send it to me as
proof. I will be verifying your results with a faculty member as well, but
I need the screenshot as the immediate proof.

Your name must be included in the screenshot or you will not get credit. An
example is below.

The subject line should say "BURPG RIMS (*name*)"

*Slack and Trac Registration: *

Please follow these steps in the order they appear. Self-registration for
Trac and Slack must be completed by *September 30, 2016*.

*Registering for Slack*
Head over to https://burpg.slack.com/signup and enter your BU email to
begin. Enter your full name (as you wish to be called) and select a clear,
easy-to-pronounce username (we recommend following the firstname.lastname
format). Make note of this username, since you’ll have to use it again when
registering for Trac. Enter a secure password to complete your
registration.

*Registering for Trac*
After registering for Slack, head to https://trac.burpg.space/register and
enter **the exact same username that you used for Slack**. You may set a
different password. Be sure to also enter your full name and BU email
address in the appropriate fields. Click “create account” to complete your
registration.

*Access Links*
After you have registered for both Trac and Slack, you may access them
through their *.burpg.space convenience links below

You may also want to download the Slack desktop and mobile apps at
https://slack.com/downloads in order to get important team notifications.
