[bulug] Call for Officers: 2009-2010. Friends of Tux Needed!

Hi all,
As the year draws to a close with no spring-semester LUG activity, it's
clear that I need an active hand in planning events and coordinating
meetings. I apologize for the lull, and I hope not too many of you are let
down. In order to ensure that the next year is not a repeat performance, I
am looking for some eager volunteers to fill the executive board positions
- ideally, applicants who can fill meeting time, put together
events, and handle a bit of the not-really-overwhelming paperwork.
If you're interested in a LUG leadership position, just send mail directly
to rmullen@bu to notify me - maybe a short blurb about why you consider
yourself suitable for the job would be nice. The first three to four
candidates will be considered, and if someone with enough passion wants to
claim the role of president, I'd be happy to oblige and work with you to
get you up to speed. If more than three to four candidates apply, there
will be an election, though the form of this election has not been
decided.
To make things easier on me (because I would like to meet the deadlines)
please respond within the next three days. I will need to meet with you to
obtain your signature.
The standard roles are President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and
Secretary, though the responsibilities of each role are quite minimal and
should not increase your personal workload by too much.
Looking for some help - I'd like the LUG to exist in places other than the
mailing list, and I've been negligent without assistance!
