After starting xterm.
1. cd /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/<the font directory u want to use>
2. Run the command "mkfontdir"
3. Run "xset fp rehash"
4. Now you can select the font using " xterm -fn <fontname> "
You may get short alias names for fonts in "fonts.alias"
