Hi there
I hope I'm responding to the right email. Getting all of these group
back-and-forth things on individual scheduling has become very confusing.
I will be at the Olin review at CBI on August 8.

Dear blind sailors and guides,
There are some exciting events coming up on the BUBS calendar. See below!
"Become a Blind Sailor in One Hour"
Tuesday, August 8 from 3 - 5 @ Community Boating
A demo of the blind sailing technology that the Olin students have been working
on for the past four years! This is a joint event for CBI, Olin, and Boston
United Blind Sailing. There will be reporters there and one of them will get to
go for a sail with us! If you are available to join us and talk about your
experiences as a blind sailor, please let Grace know.
*important: Practice on Tuesday 8/8 will be at CBI following the event, instead
of at Courageous.*
The Flip-Flop Regatta
Saturday, August 12 @ Courageous
Courageous has kindly reserved Tashtego for us to sail in the Flip-Flop
Regatta, should we so choose! This is a long standing Courageous fundraiser.
This year, the proceeds go to their Inner City Youth Development Programs,
which opens the door to youths who may not have access to sailing. It's a fun
Saturday regatta in the outer and inner harbor, and ends with a party on Pier
4. If you are interested in going, please let Grace know! First come first
serve, we can take 5-6 sailors.
Blind Fleet Racing Worlds 2017
September 11 - September 17 @ Sheboygan, Wisconsin
So far we have heard from two teams intending to go to the Worlds. Good luck to
Duane's and Pauline's teams, represent Boston at your best!
The Charles Basin Invitational Regatta
Saturday, September 16 @ Community Boating
Not going to the Worlds? Great news, there's a regatta you can join right here
in Boston! Marcelo Pereira, one of our veteran guides, is strongly encouraging
BUBS to send a boat or two to compete on the Charles River. Racing will be done
in 2-person mercuries, so we can send boats with one sighted and one blind
sailor. Register at
