Charlie Lyon reported Swallow-tailed Kite in northern Caddo Parish on July
25th. This morning, my wife Anne called me from Blanchard on the Pine Hill Rd
to report seeing 2 Swallow-tailed Kite flying low over the road. I arrived at
the site about 10 to 15 minutes later and finally saw one of the birds. I
drove around the area attempting to get a photograph. Anne watched the two
kites fly in opposite directions over my car. I finally photographed one and
observed a Mississippi Kite dive toward it. The kites disappeared behind a
tree and that was the last I saw of the Swallow-tailed Kite. Four Mississippi
Kite continued to circle the area. The ebird report with photos is at
