BIRD STUDY GROUP
We see two sorts of robins around Cotile Lake in central Louisiana - the
visiting migratory birds, often, but this year not, in large flocks and local
nesters. Lately, I've noticed up to a dozen robins seemingly paired up and
acting territorial in the various yards where nests appear in the spring. Late
yesterday after the rains had pretty much stopped, there was a robin singing
its heart out at the top of the tallest tree in the area around one yard. Of
course, big surprise. Our azaleas are starting to bloom. Will be interesting to
see what happens if the promised cold blast comes at the end of the month.
