Jean and I found 16 bobolinks this morning (Monday, April 29) in the large open
fields across the Arthur Ray Teague Parkway from the Red River NWR HQ boat
launch, but perhaps a little further south. You can see a photo of a few of

When you look for bobolinks, look in open fields with plenty of purple vetch.
That's the plant that the bobolinks are perched on in the photo. Use your
binoculars to find the purple vetch and you will likely find the bobolinks
sitting on top of it.
Bobolinks pass through this area during the last few days of April and the
first two weeks of May.
