 Hi all,Here's a belated list from nearly two weeks ago. I reporteda partial of 
this listawhile back- and true to form- left out a goodrecord- our twoCommon 
Loon! - also Pine Siskin.

Comments:     2 observers, 3 hours (2:25-5:25 p.m.) 12 miles by boat. Cloudy, 
90 degrees, wind 8 n/e beginning, cal, 68 degrees, calm ending. Survey of Cross 
Lake with Charlie Lyon. Gadwall nos astounding! first Common Loons and Horned 
Grebe, lots of Franklin's Gull.

Wood Duck  2     m/f mid-lake n side
Gadwall  1260     Single grp 450 mid-lake n, 10, then 800+ in single, somewhat 
widely spread grp e of bridge- surrounded by large scattered group of Ruddy 
Duck.
Mallard (Domestic type)  55     45 at hatchery, then scatt 4,1,1,1,3
Northern Shoveler  74     Scatt, most mid-lake n, then some e end- 1,7,5,13,40,8
Canvasback  250     most mid-lake n, scatt smaller groups nearer e end
Ring-necked Duck  66     Many scattered groups of 2-15 mid-lake n.
Lesser Scaup  10     1,9 just arriving, mid-lake n, then larger grp slightly 
west
Ruddy Duck  2790     2500 east end in general vicinity of I-220 bridge, rest 
scattered gps of 1- 95, those mostly mid-lake n side
Common Loon  2     Vocal, dark-backed adults at sep locations mid-lake n side- 
allowing close approach- initially calling without solicitation, then 
responded, but only somewhat afterward.
Pied-billed Grebe  28     Lots of singles to largest group of 4, most mid-lake 
n, some w end.
Horned Grebe  16     1 midlake n, then single group of 15 mid-lake north, 
slightly to east.
Double-crested Cormorant  2120     20 scatt, rest at w end roost.
American White Pelican  47     46 dropping in from high headed eastward at 
mid-lake, slightly west. Single at e end.
Great Blue Heron  17     Scattered
Great Egret  60     Scattered singles, grps of 9, 26 at mid-lake n side.
Black Vulture  50     In mixed kettle w end
Turkey Vulture  124     120 kettle, rest low singles mid-lake north
Sharp-shinned Hawk  1     ad, prob m mid-lake n
Bald Eagle  2     ad, male and fem perched on large snag at Bird Island.
Red-shouldered Hawk  1     very vocal ad, mid-lake n
Red-tailed Hawk  1     ad, w end
American Coot  3200     First major increase. Largest concentrations mid-lake, 
north
Killdeer  1     at yacht club near dark
Greater Yellowlegs  2     singles high overhead s/e at mid-lake n.

Marsh Wren  1     In large reeds, mouth of Fortney Bayou.

covered at mid-lake n
Eastern Bluebird  30     Single group, at first high to s/e at mid-lake n, 5 
circled back in response to E Screech-Owl

Pine Warbler  2     1,1- very low in surveys thus far.
Yellow-rumped Warbler (Myrtle)  10     2,1,5,2- largest concentration Sharp's- 
mid-lake n
White-throated Sparrow  22     grp 20 at Yacht club hedge, 2 mid-lake n
