Haven't kept any lists the past few days but had at least 3 migrant
Northern Waterthrush all giving loud, full song in the yard this morning,
also a male Yellow Warbler. There was one NOWA singing here yesterday. Need
another recorder! One NOWA may have been lingering for some time from the
earlier wave. There's been one here since then. Here's a species that is
common during both the mid thru third week April, then early May pushes of
neotropical migrants. The second movement of Rose-breasted Grosbeak also
showing at feeders now with 1-2 males. Not hearing much later in day on
jobs, though.
Mississippi Kites have been around for several days now. I've been hearing
and or seeing multiples just about everywhere. Had a pair making future
birds in a tall cottonwood sapling at the street end of the driveway
yesterday afternoon. There's 2-4 here just about every afternoon here
lately.
Also left out a fos Mourning warbler- clear calls on Viking from 05/01,
also a flyby calling Bobolink that day. As usual at this time of year, I'm
falling way behind on entering
