Hi Matthew
Yes of course, you're right in that "supporting" might suggest some kind of
official sponsorship. I think you're suggestion of "Have you heard of..." is
better. So, using your new text, maybe:
"Have you heard of BrailleCast? It's a new, regular podcast celebrating the
value of Braille. Visit www.BrailleCast.com<http://www.BrailleCast.com>, follow
@BrailleCast on Twitter, or search for BrailleCast on iTunes".
I've been a bit hectic with some project proposals recently but I hope to
contribute more to BrailleCast once I've submitted those.
There's no hurry to respond - we can update our signatures anytime...
Have a good holiday!
Best wishes,
Katy

Hi Katie,
Checking in very briefly as I am currently on holiday! Dave is also away this
week.
Thanks for the comments on the text ad. We did re-word it quite considerably
using an article that Dave wrote for the Braillists' newsletter as the starting
point, which I've attached in case you're interested. This got sent out to our
RNIB/UKAAF contact last Friday.
We have kept my V1 around as it might come in useful later on.
RE promotion on your email signatures, thank you so much for the offer! It
needs Dave's input, but for my part I obviously wouldn't want to blindly turn
down good advertising and I'm sure we can find a way to make it work. It needs
to be thought through properly, though, as if we're not careful I imagine it
could blur the lines where corporate sponsorship is concerned. The word
"Supporting" raises a particular red flag for me.
On the surface I would be happy with something like "Have you heard of ...",
"Check out ...", "Visit ..." instead of "Supporting ...".
I get back late Sunday. I'll have a proper think over the following few days
and see where we go from there.
Thanks again for your support,
Matthew

Hi Matthew
Sorry to be so late to reply to this. I think it reads well. We were also
wondering in the A2i office if we could add anything to our email signature to
promote BrailleCast? There's not a great deal of space on our email signatures,
so I was thinking something along the lines of: "Supporting BrailleCast.com -
the world's first podcast all about braille."
What do you think? I'm open to suggestions on what to add...
Thanks and best wishes,
Katy

Subject: [brlcast] Text Ad For Review
Hi everyone,
You may already be aware that a couple of contacts at UKAAF/RNIB have
generously agreed to help us promote Braillecast by posting a short text
advertisement on UKAAF/RNIB letterhead to all of their braille promotion
channels, including RNIB magazines.
I have drafted the attached and would welcome any feedback. Please be as
pernickety as you like - this sort of writing is a little out of my comfort
zone!
I appreciate that we are in the height of exhibition season, but I would quite
like to get a final version off to UKAAF/RNIB tomorrow, if not today, so if you
could let me have your feedback ASAP I would be most grateful.
Many thanks in advance,
Matthew
P.S. the bit at the bottom about the Sonata player is valid as of today - we
were added to their listings a couple of hours ago.
