I saw a buteo-type hawk soaring, going higher until I couldn't see any more detail. From underneath, it's tail looked dark with a white band on the bottom edge. It's underparts were light. When it's upper parts were visible as it turned, it's tail was dark above and there was a patch of white. It appeared to be a rump patch but not sure. I know that's not much information but maybe some of you hawk watchers can tell me something.
