It has been pretty exciting around our feeders for the past few days. We have
seen Indigo B,Goldfinch,Red-Bellied WP,Towhee,Brown Thrasher,WT Sparrow,WCr
Sparrows,Chipping Sp,House Finch,Song Sp,RW Blackbird,Cowbird,C Grackle,Tufted
Titmouse,C Chickadee,E Bluebird,Blue Jay,Cardinal,&Rose-Breasted Grosbeaks. I
also want to report something unusual I observed at Riverview E/M School ,
where I teach. While on bus duty we have been observing Rough Winged Swallows
flying around the parking lot & occasionally fly into the tailpipe of one of
the parked buses! We observed this behavior for serveral days wondering if they
were investigating possible nest sites or what? Finally, when one of the buses
was started to get ready to load, we saw nest material flying out! It seems the
longer you watch birds the more interesting it becomes. Congratulations to Ed
Talbot for his B Eagle sighting. I' ve been looking for a Buchanan Co. B Eagle
for many years.

         Good birding,

          Dave Raines

P.S. I had a new sighting for our place in Breaks yesterday, a beautiful male
Chesnut-Sided Warbler. I also had a singing Cerulean on Bull Mt. last Saturday
& a Swainsons & a Cerulean in the Breaks Park on 5/1.
