I, along with a small group of my fellow ham radio operators, have been
keeping tabs on late RTHBs at our feeders. Lonnie Ward in Bristol has
several feeders and reported 8 hummers on Sept 29. I saw 4 at my single
feeder yesterday, including 2 fighting. Others are seeing 2 or 3 a day
for the past week or so. We (all very casual and uninformed birders)
agree that recent appearances seem to occur mostly early in the morning
or late in the evening.
