found the photo after months of searching..

This is a late-winter update for background concerning the Bald Eagle nest

on the North Fork Holston River in Scott County, VA.

Jennifer Meade, who is a dedicated and energetic eagle student in Southwest

Virginia, wrote:

" From the landowner's account, this is what I found out:

1. They had seen balds on the Holston in that vicinity since early or mid
2000's.

2. Nesting activity for the past 4 or so years. has been visible.

3. One juvenile was seen last year-- the one we photographed in kayak
expedition,

probably. and

4. During the recent winter weather, the nest is no longer visible from
across the

river as it had previously been.

Additionally, this nest was not near tree trunk, but rather farther out on a
limb.

Unsure if the nest only, the limb, or entire tree is down.. Landowners had
not

been across the river ford to that side as of yet."
