To add to Mary Erwin's update of herons in Kingsport, I saw for the first time
today two juvie Yellow-crowned Night-herons in the nest on the Green Belt at
the end of W. Ravine St. (in Kingsport). They are about half the size of their
parents. One adult and 2 juvies were standing in the nest together- one of the
juvies was breaking off bits of the nest and throwing them overboard (typical
teenager) and the other practicing flapping its wings in its parent's face,
causing the latter to rear back.

I don't know how they got so big so fast-I must not have been paying attention!
