John Anthony Jones GWWA research June 2014.jpg Introducing John Anthony Jones for those who are suspicious of others we don't know. John Jones is an avian field researchers with the Golden-winged Warbler Working Group Project, Western NC. He is a graduate student at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC where he is studying towards a Master's in ecology with the focus on avian behavior. In particular, the rare, rapidly-declining species (Golden-wingeds). He is interested in the ecological consequences of smypatry with wood warbler by focusing his research on interspecific competition between the Golden-winged Warbler and the Chestnut-sided Warbler in the Southern Appalachians He also involves himself in side projects with other species, particularly Eastern Bluebirds. John spends much time going afield at such places in Northeast Tennessee as Hampton Creek Cove Natural Area near Roan Mnt. and in Golden-winged habitat along the Johnson County, TN stateline with North Carolina.
