This morning (1 Sep) I banded a Lincoln's Sparrow at Carver's Gap on Roan Mtn,
in northeast Tenn. This date is 10 days earlier than the previous early fall
date for Northeast Tenn. (5 county area) and a week earlier than the early fall
date listed in the Annotated Checklist of Birds of Tenn. (Robinson 1990).
Also, good numbers of Tenn. & Black-thr. Blue Warblers have been passing thru,
with some Cape Mays & Blackburnians, Swainson's Thrushes, etc. A juvenile
Hermit Thrush banded a couple of days ago was undoubtedly locally raised.
