Subject: [bcbirdclub] Great Blue Heron Heronry - Clinch River Russell County
This morning Jean Montgomery, Laverne and I went birding in the Carbo
area of Russell County. Approximately 2 miles downriver from the Carbo Power
Plant on Power Plant Road we discovered a heron rookery. There were 6 nests
that were visible with 7 Great Blue Herons on nests or perched nearby.
I am not aware of anyone posting information about this heronry.
We had our FOY Orchard Orioles, Scarlet Tanagers, Hooded Warblers, and
Northern Parulas on Hazel Mountain Road and Roaring Fork.
