And I bet a lot of ducks left late last night or early this morning when the sky cleared. Boone Lake - Washington & Sullivan Co - over 500 ducks, highlighted by: N. Pintail - 10 Redhead - 115 Lsr Scaup - 240 White-wg. Scoter - 8 Com. Goldeneye - 1 Red-br. Merganser - 40 Middlebrook Lake - Sullivan Co. about 200 ducks, including: Canvasback - 2 Redhead - 83 South Holston Lake - Sullivan Co over 700 ducks, highlighted by: N. Pintail - 38 - new high count in Northeast Tenn. Redhead - 270 Gr. Scaup - 10 White-wg. Scoter - 10 Long-tailed Duck - 12 Eared Grebe - 1 - first I've seen here since Nov Pemberton Rd / Rooty Branch beaver pond - Sullivan Co nearly 200 ducks, highlighted by: N. Shoveler - 5 - Pemberton Rd Redhead - 130 - Rooty Br. - an amazing number on this small pond South Holston River weir - Sullivan Co surprisingly little, highlighted by: Redhead - 5 Paddle Cr. pond - Sullivan Co over 400 ducks, highlighted by: Canvasback - 15 Redhead - 370 - another amazing total ---------------------------------------------------------------- All combined, 973 Redheads is also a new high count for Northeast Tenn. ############### Rick Knight Johnson City, TN
