Checking a half dozen waterfowl sites, mainly in eastern Sullivan Co,
produced over 2100 ducks of 20 species; pretty darn good for
northeast Tenn.

And I bet a lot of ducks left late last night or early this morning
when the sky cleared.

Boone Lake - Washington & Sullivan Co -
over 500 ducks, highlighted by:
N. Pintail - 10
Redhead - 115
Lsr Scaup - 240
White-wg. Scoter - 8
Com. Goldeneye - 1
Red-br. Merganser - 40

Middlebrook Lake - Sullivan Co.
about 200 ducks, including:
Canvasback - 2
Redhead - 83

South Holston Lake - Sullivan Co
over 700 ducks, highlighted by:
N. Pintail - 38 - new high count in Northeast Tenn.
Redhead - 270
Gr. Scaup - 10
White-wg. Scoter - 10
Long-tailed Duck - 12
Eared Grebe - 1 - first I've seen here since Nov

Pemberton Rd / Rooty Branch beaver pond - Sullivan Co
nearly 200 ducks, highlighted by:
N. Shoveler - 5 - Pemberton Rd
Redhead - 130 - Rooty Br. - an amazing number on this small pond

South Holston River weir - Sullivan Co
surprisingly little, highlighted by:
Redhead - 5

Paddle Cr. pond - Sullivan Co
over 400 ducks, highlighted by:
Canvasback - 15
Redhead - 370 - another amazing total
----------------------------------------------------------------

All combined, 973 Redheads is also a new high count for Northeast Tenn.
