Hey Wallace, neat list.  I know its not the same thing, but there could be as many or more insect species to be found scavenging a deer carcass.  One time Dianne Draper and I found a black bear skull in the woods, and several brightly colored beetle species crawled out of the braincase.  Another time I spent a half hour observing hordes of butterflies on a deer carcass near Ripshin Lake.  Of course, they take much smaller bites ;-)

In addition to the previously posted list of animals feeding on roadkill
deer carcasses, I have added six species: BLACK BEAR,
WHITE-FOOTED MOUSE, BLACK VULTURE, GOLDEN EAGLE and
STRIPED SKUNK. Jeremy Stout wrote:  "I've personally witnessed
an EASTERN CHIPMUNK scavenging a carcass (though not recently),
and it wasn't just for the bones; that little booger was going to town!"
